Buddy Brownie Bars

My mom and I are beginning a new tradition. Every year we're going to make a treat together the Friday before Easter. We made this one up as we went, and it was great. Very rich. I recommend serving it as part of a hot fudge Sundae.

1 stick of butter, melted
1 chocolate cake mix (dry)
1/2 C. (or more) white chocolate chips
1/2 C. (or more) chocolate chips (semisweet or milk)
1/2 C. (or more) butterscotch chips
1 C. mini marshmallows
1 can sweetened condensed milk
3/4 C chopped pecans
1 C. shredded sweetened coconut

Preheat oven to 350.
Melt butter and put in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour cake mix over it, and mix together until crumbly. Press down as the crust.
Sprinkle chips evenly over the crust. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over the crust. Use 1/2 (ONLY HALF) of the sweetened condensed milk and drizzle over entire creation. Evenly distribute the pecans, followed by 3/4 C of the coconut. Drizzle remaining sweetened condensed milk followed by remaining coconut flakes.

Bake for 35-40 minutes. Check for golden brown edges. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting (otherwise it will just ooze).

  1. Whoa...that ingredient list makes my teeth ache. I bet they were really good. Especially with ice cream :)

  2. This gooey goodness looks delicious. My kids don't eat pecans or coconut so I guess I'd have to eat the whole thing myself. :)
